The Movement Studio – Parent & Student Guidelines with Consent
Welcome to TMS
We aim to provide a safe, supportive and inspiring environment for all our students. By enrolling, you agree to the following guidelines:

1. Fees & Payments
• Fees are due in advance via ClassForKids or agreed payment method.
• Late payments may incur a fee.
• Missed classes are non-refundable unless due to prolonged illness or exceptional circumstances.
• If enrolling mid-month, your subscription will start the following month. Fees for the current month will not be covered and will need to be brought up to date.
• Payments will be returned if a class is cancelled due to minimum numbers not being achieved.
• Your booking is not confirmed until payment has been received. Paid spaces are given priority.

2. Attendance & Behaviour
• Students should arrive on time and attend all classes.
• Respectful behaviour is expected. Repeated disruption, bullying, or misbehaviour may result in removal from the programme without refund.
• You must refrain from bringing your child to class if they have had any form of illness within 48 hours of the class.

3. Uniform & Appearance
Ballet Classes
• My First MOVE (18 months–3 yrs): Pink leotard, peach ballet socks, peach ballet shoes, or The Movement Studio T-shirt and black shorts.
• MOVE 1 & 2: Lilac leotard, peach ballet socks, peach ballet shoes.
• MOVE 3: Black ballet leotard, peach tights, peach ballet shoes.
Other Genres (Jazz, Contemporary, Tap, Commercial, etc.)
• The Movement Studio T-shirt and black leggings or shorts. • Tap shoes:
- My First MOVE / MOVE 1 & 2: One pair of white or silver tap shoes (Tele Tone taps recommended).
- MOVE 3: One pair of black tap shoes (Tele Tone taps recommended).
• Suitable footwear depending on style (e.g., jazz shoes, bare feet for contemporary).
Additional Items
• The Movement Studio jackets and cover-ups are available.
• Uniform orders will be placed in the first week of each month, once payment has been received.
Additional Notes
• Hair should be neatly tied back for all classes, hair in a bun for ballet.
• Jewellery should be minimal or removed for safety.
• Any uniform or hair deviations should be discussed with staff in advance.

4. Health & Safety
• Students must inform staff of any medical conditions, allergies, or injuries during registration and keep us updated by emailing movementstudio.rm@gmail.com or messaging Miss Rachael on 07825 163744.
• Parents/guardians are responsible for safe drop-off and collection.
• Please collect students from the studio door.
• If you cannot come to the door, park around the back so staff can see students safely enter vehicles, especially important during darker evenings.
• Notify staff if your child is going home independently.
First Aid
• Miss Rachael is a trained First Aider. First aid will be administered to your child, if necessary, only with parental/guardian consent.
Toilet Supervision
• MOVE 1 & 2 students are escorted to the toilet by a DBS-checked chaperone. • MOVE 3 students go independently.

5. Safeguarding & Communication
• Staff follow safeguarding protocols in line with legislation.
• Any concerns or incidents will be handled according to safeguarding procedures.

6. Photography & Media
• Photos/videos may be shared on The Movement Studio’s official accounts only.
• Children will not be identified by full name.
• Parents must declare if they do not want their child photographed for marketing purposes and keep us updated via email or phone.

7. Shows, Exams & Events
• Participation is encouraged to support learning and development. •Costume, ticket, and travel fees are additional.
• Absences should be communicated in advance.

8. Termination of Classes
• Parents/guardians wishing to withdraw their child must provide at least 4 weeks’ written notice.
• Fees may be payable during the notice period as agreed.

9. Liability & Insurance
• Students participate at their own risk.
• The Movement Studio or any of its staff are not responsible for any loss or injury during class.
• The studio holds public liability insurance but cannot accept responsibility for injury outside normal supervision or for personal belongings.

10. GDPR
• The Movement Studio collects and processes personal information about students and their families for class management, safeguarding, and communication.
• All data is stored securely and only accessed by relevant staff.
• Parents/guardians have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of their child’s data at any time.
• Photos and videos will only be shared with parental consent and can be withdrawn at any time.

11. Consent & Safeguarding
At The Movement Studio, we sometimes share rehearsal/practice videos to support learning at home, and we love celebrating our dancers’ achievements on our official social media pages (Facebook & Instagram).
Children’s WhatsApp Group – Rehearsal Videos
• The group will be created and monitored by staff only.
• Videos and photos shared in the group are strictly for rehearsal/practice purposes and must not be posted on social media.
• WhatsApp is officially 16+, but by giving consent, you are allowing your child to be part of the group under staff supervision.
• Phone numbers are visible to all group members.
Social media
• We may share appropriate class or performance photos/videos on The Movement Studio’s official accounts only.
• Children will not be identified by full name.
• Content will never be posted anywhere other than our official channels.
Collection & Safety
• Please can all parents come to the studio door to collect students.
• If you cannot come to the door, please park around the back so staff can see students safely get into cars, especially important during darker evenings.
• If your child is going home independently, please send a quick message to confirm this so we know they are safe.
Consent
Please reply with your preferences (copy & paste, adding your child’s name):
1. I give / do not give permission for my child [child’s name] to be part of The Movement Studio WhatsApp group for rehearsal/practice videos, monitored by staff.
2. I give / do not give permission for photos/videos of my child [child’s name] to be used on The Movement Studio’s official social media.
3. I give / do not give permission for my child [child’s name] to be escorted to the toilet by a DBS-checked chaperone (MOVE 1 & 2 students only). I understand that MOVE 3 students go independently.
4. I give / do not give permission for my child [child’s name] to receive first aid from a qualified first aider if necessary.
